Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Seyyedi, speaking during this week’s Friday prayers in the northwestern Iranian city of Bonab, marked the anniversary of the martyrdom of General Soleimani by calling him a “legend of resistance, sincerity, and strategic insight.”
He said the late commander devoted his entire life to confronting religious distortions and extremist ideologies, particularly Takfiri movements such as ISIS, which have inflicted immense suffering on Muslim societies.
“General Soleimani stood firmly against the darkest manifestations of religious deviation,” the cleric said, stressing that the rise of ISIS was not accidental but the direct outcome of policies pursued by American leaders. He noted that US President Donald Trump himself had openly acknowledged Washington’s role in the creation of the terrorist group.
Referring to General Soleimani’s decisive role in defeating ISIS, the Bonab Friday Prayer Imam emphasized that the general’s achievements went far beyond Iran’s borders.
“Not only Iran, but the entire region is indebted to the courage and wisdom of this great martyr,” Seyyedi stated. “By fostering unity among different ethnicities, religions, and resistance movements, he neutralized the threat of terrorism and saved the region from a catastrophic fate.”
He added that General Soleimani’s approach was rooted in inclusivity and cooperation, noting that the commander successfully brought together Muslims of different sects, as well as followers of other religions, to confront a common enemy.
In another part of his sermon, Seyyedi highlighted the close and brotherly relationship between General Soleimani and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. He said Nasrallah had repeatedly described this bond as a divine blessing and a model of mutual sacrifice in the path of resistance.
“The relationship between these two leaders was not merely political or military,” he said. “It was a relationship built on faith, trust, and a shared commitment to defending the oppressed.”
Addressing current regional and international developments, the Bonab Friday Prayer Imam warned of ongoing threats and conspiracies targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, including economic sanctions, technological restrictions, the assassination of scientists, and extensive psychological warfare.
He said enemies of Iran are waging a “combined war” aimed at weakening public morale through propaganda campaigns and media distortion, adding that such efforts have so far failed due to the nation’s resilience.
“The vigilance, resistance, and unity of the Iranian people have repeatedly frustrated the enemy’s plots,” Seyyedi said. “Despite immense pressure, the Islamic Republic has emerged stronger, forcing its adversaries to retreat in multiple arenas.”
He concluded by stressing that the legacy of Martyr Soleimani continues to inspire resistance movements across the region, serving as a reminder that unity and steadfastness remain the most effective weapons against aggression and terrorism.
